Grading to begin on restoration area

CBMM will soon begin a campus grading project in advance of 1912 river tug Delaware's restoration. With the help of Bridges Site & Utilities, the area next to the marine railway will soon be leveled graded to prevent the area from being as easily flooded. This will allow the space to be of better use to shipwrights, and for Delaware to be craned there for continued work.

Following the completion of work to the ground, two timber frame structures will be moved to the area — one built through one of CBMM's AFAD Shipyard Program that will be used as a floating fleet maintenance shed. The second will be a pavilion built around Delaware to protect the boat from inclement weather.

Work, including the construction of structures, is expected to be completed around the end of the first quarter of 2019.
