Delaware scanned by National Park Service

On Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, CBMM welcomed Todd Croteau of the National Park Service Maritime Program to campus to scan Delaware ahead of her restoration.

According to Duncan Macfarlane, lead shipwright on the project, “with those photos, Todd will be able to develop a three-dimensional rendering of the boat and, from that, a set of lines drawings of the vessels shape as she is right now. From that, we will be able to re-fair the shape to take out the hogging (droopiness of the backbone timbers that happens over time) and rebuild to a shape more in line with her original build.”
