Starboard Shaping is Wrapping Up

Planing and sanding, that’s what we’re all about. This morning we finished fairing the wing log at each station, using the plywood molds for reference with the log off of the canoe. Then with the wing stacked back on the other two logs, we faired the sections in between the stations using the molds and rest of the hull for reference.

Working from the bow to stern, the starboard half of the hull is nearly complete. The two stations furthest forward are the last of the areas to remove material and we will finish that tomorrow. With the starboard side of the hull faired, we hope to have the port side of the hull shaped and fair by the end of the week and then it will be onto the interior.
