Watching Glue Dry Has Never Been Better
I mean that as seriously as possible, although I’m not sure that makes the statement any better. Regardless, we couldn’t be happier waiting, for come Monday this canoe will be whole. We checked on our glue this morning everything seams to be curing quite well. We covered the hull with a piece of shrink-wrap and placed an electric heater underneath to help ensure a smooth curing.
Our next step is to let in a piece of wood about two inches deep that will cover each end of the garboards and help tie in each wing and garboard with the center log. We cut a couple pieces of pine to serve as these cap sections and will finish milling them and notching out the logs on Monday.
