Dubbing the Day Away

We are cranking along on the garboards. Our starboard side log has undergone planing and is on to some sanding to fair out the inside of the log. Meanwhile, our port side log underwent a thorough transformation today. After a quick chainsaw tuneup this morning we cut kerfs down the length of the log and then removed large chunks with the adze for the rest of the day.

Individually, the logs have beautiful shape to them. Their dramatic curves fore and aft give some indication of the sweeping lines that the hull will have when she one day slices through the water. Tomorrow we expect to have both trimmed down to our lines, smoothed and fair, then it will be onto the wings.
