Rainy Day Dubbing

Does it get much better than a rainy day at the shipyard? Maybe a sunny day at the shipyard, but we’re not keeping score. Today saw beautiful progress on the port side garboard log. For most of the day the yard was a cacophony of planers whirring, the chainsaw buzzing and adzes falling with thuds into the side of our yellow pine. Before being confined to the shop by the rain this afternoon we got the bottom side of the log square to the sides and rounded both of the ends to their maximum depth.

On Monday we will complete the layout of our starboard garboard log and begin work on extracting our wing logs from both garboards.
